Adilyn Grace

This a post from March... She has changed so much already since this post!!!

Adilyn, your spirit and spunk gives my heart such great joy!  I thank God for your sweet and sassy personality... sometimes you are difficult, but I am so glad you are a confident little girl.  I pray that continues.  The things you say make me laugh... such as the other day when you told me that princesses do not have to clean up.  I informed you that they do in this house!  I don't know where you get the silly things you say from.  You have such an imagination!!!

You have had a lot going on this last month.  You gave up your night night, and you learned how to use the potty like a big girl :-)  My little girl is not a baby anymore, which makes me sad.

Now June...
Your spunk continues in full force! I love that you are independent, but that you love playing with your brothers and friends! You will not be forced into doing anything you don't want to. You are a strong willed little lady!! You love to play with your babies and my little ponies and dress up princess gowns, but in the very next moment you are getting dirty and playing trucks :-) your daddy loves that about you ;-)

You make me laugh everyday at your ideas and wild imagination! Yesterday you tried to grow a dog food plant! Ha!

Love ya to the moon and back, baby girl! So glad God allowed me to be your mommy. I am truly blessed!

Trevin Matthew

My sweet tender hearted boy! You have such a sweet, kind spirit. You have a genuine care for others and their feelings. You also have a repentful heart. You are truly sorry when you have done wrong. Your sweet prayers melt my heart... Everyday since Asher was born in February, you have prayed for him! You were delighted to hear he is finally home yesterday and thanked God for it! You were able to meet Asher a couple months ago and loved seeing him :-)

You take great care of your sister and brother! You even started "babysitting" while I take a shower!

Your favorite things are anything that daddy has and does... Tools, tractors, grilling, and building! You LOVE helping your daddy :-)

I love you so so much, my little man! You truly are a joy and melt my heart daily!

For real this time!

Okay, so obviously I have not been good about updating. Here is another attempt, because there truly is so much that I want to remember.
In a nutshell since February...

Paxton celebrated his first birthday! He inhaled his cake so fast that I had to take it away from him. My kids love sugar... They have their mommy's sweet tooth, unfortunately!

Here are some Easter and bluebonnet pics! Our first bluebonnet pictures since we were in Arizona in the past :-)

Adilyn celebrated her 3rd birthday in true princess tea party fashion. I love that she is such a girl, but can also hang with the boys just as easy! We had a lot of fun with just the girls!

Trevin played soccer! He had fun with it! I am happy with that because t-ball last spring was not so fun!

And a picture of my sweet boys just because ;-)

Little Angel

Last night, baby Titus Bauer Adams went to be with our sweet Lord.  After 4 weeks of bed rest, Robyn went into labor and they were unable to stop it. His sac ruptured four weeks ago and without it, his lungs were not able to develop enough to make breathing in this world for very long possible.  He put up every fight he had in him and then God called him home.  He was a mighty warrior who led a lot of people closer to Jesus these last few months, calling many to pray for he and his brother.  He even helped save his brother by blocking the birth canal when Robyn went into preterm labor a month ago.  We got to hold him last night and say a very tender hearted goodbye.  My heart aches and is broken right now.

We praise the name of our Mighty Lord, who by His grace and goodness, has saved baby Asher Mark.  Asher has a fight in front of him, but he is doing remarkably well.  He even pulled off his oxygen last night and was breathing on his own.  I have not gotten to see him yet, but can't wait to see his sweet face and pray over him.

Please pray for Asher, that he continues to grow stronger every minute and that he be the miracle we have been praying for.  We are hopeful that God will put His protective hands around Asher and help him to keep fighting.

Please pray for Robyn and Bryan who are hurting, but they remain strong in their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and His goodness.  Their steadfast faith throughout these last couple years are inspiring.  You can read their full story here:  bryanandrobynadams@blogspot.com.  I  encourage you to do so because you will be encouraged and inspired.

We love them and grieve with them. They are our family, our children's godparents.  Please pray with us.  Our comfort and hope is in God alone.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer; and our hope for you is firmly grounded, knowing that as you are sharers of our sufferings, so also you are sharers of our comfort."
2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Adilyn Grace

This morning Trevin was not feeling well, so you were left to entertain yourself.  I love seeing what you come up with apart from your brother who typically decides what you guys are going to play.  When I walked into the playroom, I saw this...
You are such a little mommy!  I love it!  Your teacher, Mrs. Celine, tells me all the time how you take care of everyone in your class, and even the bigger kids on the playground.

She also told me yesterday that she thinks you are going to be a doctor or nurse when you grow up.  You tripped and fell and busted your lip open and instead of crying, you wanted to see the boo boo and the blood.  My tough little girl!  I started thinking about that, and yes you are always concerned about people when they get hurt.  You have empathy, my sweet baby girl.  You are super sassy, but you are also very sweet!

What will your future hold?

Sick hearts

A sick, sinful heart of a four year old...  We see it all the time, even with our 9 month old, how sinful our hearts are, but yesterday just caught me off guard and made me incredible sad. Trevin lied straight to my face.  I watched him throw his sandwich in the trash and walk up to me and said he ate it all.  At first, I did not know how to react.  We talked about it, how what he did was called a lie and it was a sin and when we sin, we have to ask for forgiveness.  He prayed for forgiveness and told me he was sorry.  Then he got a spanking.

Today, it happened again.  I told him no snacks, and could hear him getting into the snack drawer.  He tells me he is going outside, little stink pot!  I made him show me what he was so obviously hiding behind his back.  We had the talk again, prayed for forgiveness, and had a spanking.  This time I also took away his new Cars cup.

Hopefully we will not have the same talk again tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath.

Starting again...

As you can see, I have not been very good about "recording the footsteps."  I am going to attempt to do a better job because, truly, there are so many moments I don't want to forget.

The start of 2012 has been rocky to say the least, with so many struggles and loss for those I love.  First, my brother Todd had emergency surgery to remove his appendix.  My best friend Robyn, who has struggled with infertility the last 2 years, went into preterm labor with her twin boys at 19 weeks.  By the grace of God, the sweet baby boys are still safe inside her where God is continuing to knit them together moment by moment.  She is on strict hospital bed rest.  My parents had to put one of their dogs down which was very hard on them.  My step-brother Eric had a garage fire on New Year's Eve.  Thankfully no one was hurt and damage was confined to the garage.

We are more thankful and prayerful than ever for our many blessings and struggles.  Walking along side Robyn and Bryan has been encouraging to Michael and I, as we watch them in the midst of absolute heart ache relying on God alone.  Our prayer life has definitely strengthened as we pray fervently for them and want a deeper relationship and understanding with our God.

Please pray for Robyn and Bryan.  Robyn has written their story on her blog, and she updates with any new happenings.  You can visit it here: bryanandrobynadams@blogspot.com
